Watching Jodha Akbar is a visually stunning experience. A love story between the great emperor Akbar and his Rajput wife Jodha. Though director Ashutosh Gowarikar came under lots of criticism for the authenticity of historical facts, but he was able to pull off a stunning story with great visuals. The characters seemed very relatable and not too obscure and implausible.
Hindi movie Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal Emperor, Akbar and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. Politically, success knew no limits for Emperor Akbar, after having secured the Hindu Kush; he furthered his realm by occupation until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godhavari River. Through a sharp blend of lenience, kindness and force, Akbar won over the Rajputs and ruled over a large part of India.
The film is about the love that grows between the two very headstrong characters and becomes a marriage of love from a marriage of politics. Hrithik Roshan plays out a very commendable performance as Akbar, he almost makes us believe that he is Akbar and it is difficult to shatter the image after the movie ends. Aishwarya Rai fits the bill of a graceful, headstrong yet obedient Rajput princess to the T, the music is given by A.R . Rahman, need we say more. He conjures up the perfect blend of songs and score to suit the movie and the songs seem seamlessly included in the film. Jodha Akbar is a must watch and remains etched in ones memory after a watch.
