Leonardo DiCaprio can be regarded as one of the best looking actors of Hollywood. After he found his step brother Adam Starr appearing in commercials, Leo, as he fondly called, was inspired to be an actor. Leonardo has been nominated thrice for the Academy Award. He was also nominated for SAG Award and is a winner of Golden Globe Award. This American actor began his acting career in the year 1989, when he was signed for the television version of the film ‘Parenthood’. He eventually started getting offer for more television roles and film roles. Leonardo’s debut film was ‘Critters 3’ where he played the role of Josh, the movie was released in 1991. Two years later in 1992 came his breakthrough role of Toby in the film ‘This Boy’s Life’ which also starred Robert De Niro and Ellen Barkin. Portraying a mentally challenged boy in the film ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’ in the year 1993 gave him his first nomination at the age of 19 in the Academy Awards. His most noted film was ‘Titanic’ which was directed by James Cameron. His character Jack Dawson took Leonardo to great heights of stardom. He was paired opposite Kate Winslet and the movie won eleven Academy Awards. Leonardo became a household name, he almost covered all the front covers of the magazines from Vanity Fair to Rolling Stone. His other memorable films are ‘Gangs of New York’ ,’The Aviator’, ‘The Departed’ directed by Martin Scorsese, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Catch Me If You Can’, ‘Blood Diamond’ and Woody Allen’s ‘Celebrity’.
